About premium house coal
Premium house coal has some unique qualities, it burns with a long flame, gives off a great heat and has low ash content. If you compare two fires, one with premium coal and one with smokeless briquettes, then you will feel the heat difference.
PLEASE NOTE: Premium Coal is suitable for open fires and designated multi-fuel stoves (not wood burning stoves designed only for wood). This coal is not suitable for burning in smoke controlled areas (unless using a DEFRA approved appliance).
About smokeless coal – ovals
This the most popular smokeless fuel in the UK and is suitable for multi-fuel stoves and open fires, Slow-burning Homefire Ovals pack together to provide maximum heat and minimum waste. Ovals last up to 40% longer than standard house coal and fires can burn up to nine hours. Ovals burn with a naturally attractive flame and produce up to 20% more heat than house coal. They also emit very little smoke (up to 80% less smoke than standard house coal) and are HETAS approved. They are also useful to keep a fire slumbering overnight so it can be re-ignited the next day.
